I took the US FCC exams all in one go and achieved Amateur Extra class and call sign AC9XE
With that I got my Japan reciprocal operating permit and call sign JK1BIB.
I'm originally from Madison, Wisconsin, USA and have lived in Japan since 1991, with 9 years in Hong Kong between 2008 and 2017.
I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and did my undergrad studies at the University of Notre Dame, in Indiana.
I work in information technology in the financial sector.
