I was first licensed in 1979 as KA1DOJ with the help and support of Frank Collins, K1EBY. I passed my General and Advanced exams in 1980. When I moved to Maryland in 1983 I changed my call sign to KC3UA. At that point, life got in the way and I didn't do much with with amateur radio until 2008 when I decided to get back in and took my Extra class exam.
I retired at the end of 2015 and now live on a small farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia (Hampshire County) with my wife, K3MMG, two horses, three dogs, eight chickens, four goats and a cat.
I finally have room for antennas. So far, I only have a Butternut HF9V vertical up but I have a tower waiting to be erected. My main rig is an Icom IC-7700 with a Yaseu FT-950 for backup. I have a Yaesu FT-857D for portable operation. I use a MicroHAM MicroKeyer II for my digital interface and Ham Radio Deluxe with DM-780 as my main software.
I QSL via L0TW (preferred) as well as eQSL (AG). I also QSL direct and via the bureau. If you want my QSL card, just send me yours and I'll shoot one back to you. No cash, SASE or IRC required.
If we've met on the air before, thanks for the QSO. If not, I look forward to a QSO in the future.

Jerry Garland
