 About Me

Son of Dave (K3BN). First licensed as a Novice in 1991 around my 16th birthday as KA3WWB. Learned Morse Code and passed Tech Plus in 1992 and became N3IYU. Studied for Extra on a 10-month Navy deployment in 2002-2003, then passed and took my current callsign, N3WI. I was living in Whidbey Island, WA, at the time, so it seemed like the most appropriate 1x2 that I could find--there were still a fair number available at the time!

After many years of struggling to find a good antenna setup, I came across M0MCX's DX Commander in December 2023 and haven't looked back. I spend most of my time on FT8 and FT4.

My QTH

Currently operating from Heidelberg Township, Spring Grove, PA. ICOM IC-7300 with DX Commander on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10M. 2M on 147.330 MHz+ pl tone 123.0 Hz (Penn-Mar Radio Club, Hanover, PA). I confirm all contacts and upload every day to LOTW, QRZ.com, eQSL, and ClubLog.
