Greetings From Richard N7WFK.... I have been a ham since I was 10 yrs old if I remember right. Originally licensed back in 1988 I believe. Made my first contacts on 10 meters with my dads old tube radio.
I operate a Yaesu FTDX 1200 with a Yaesu FP-1030A power supply. The antennas I use are a GAP Titan DX and a Alpha Delta DX-EE mounted to the side of my house. I will soon be putting up an Alpha Delta DX-DD in my attic since the wife won't let me run it over the back yard pool area. The microphone I use is a Yaesu MD-100. Headphones I use are RadioSport RS20S to pick out those hard to hear signals. I also run a Yaesu FT-8900R for my 2 meter/70 cm activities. DMR radio I use is a Anytone AT-D878UV Plus.
Extremely active on alot of FT8 and FT4. I plan on relearning CW and working on that in the near future. I am very active as well with the VE program with the ARRL.
I use WSJT-X, Ham Radio Deluxe and Grid Tracker for my Digital activities on the air.
I love collecting QSL cards, I will send QSL Cards to you if I receive one... no need to send a SASE... I will cover sending you one.
I have Echolink but have yet to connect with anyone using it. Just downloaded and installed it on 7/7/2021 and saw a lot of stations on there. This program as I mentioned is very new to me and I have yet to figure out how to use it to is fullest.
Served in the US Army for 11 yrs as an Infantryman with the Airborne Qualification. I quit jumping out of planes in 1994 when I injured my right knee. Went to Iraq in 2003 with the 3rd Infantry Division 3/7 Infantry and was medivac'd for injuries. Been retired since 2005 and ham radio is my newest active hobby.
