Hello!

My name is Jerry and I have been an operator since 2016 when I received my tech ticket! I took and passed my general ticket on 6/2/18. I have been immersed in ham radio my entire life. Both my father(WA9THI) and grandfather(WA9UKB) are hams and I am following in the tradition. I operate a Kenwood TS-590SG, ICOM 756PROII, Yaesu FT-2900R/E, and Yaesu FT-817. I am a mobile generator technician and travel all over the state of Indiana repairing backup power generators. With all the windshield time I have in my van it only made since to install some sort of radio setup in the van as well. I am running a Yaesu FT-2800M with a hood mounted antenna. Since making the upgrade I mainly work the HF bands now, more specifically the digital mode FT8(I've jumped ship on FT8 and went FT4 now). I am starting to play around with SSTV. I am using a homemade inverted V antenna, and a homemade Cobweb antenna my father (WA9THI) and I made. Both these antennas work great and were fun to build with my father. 73's and have a good day! smiley
