I passed the Technician test in April 2010, General in August 2010. and Extra in March 2012. I was issued my original call sign of KB3UJF, and on August 28, 2013 I obtained the vanity call sign WF3J. I am a member of the Berry Mountain Amateur Radio Club in Northern Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. I enjoy making DX contacts and have made many throughout Europe, South America, and the Carribbean among others.
My station equipment includes an Icom IC-7000, an Icom 718, and a Yaesu FT-950 for HF. For VHF/UHF, I have a Yaesu FT1900, FT7900, and FT8800. The antennas include a Carolina Windom OCF DX 80, a G5RV, Cushcraft MA5VA, EFH 40 meter end fed, Comet GP-3 and GP-1, and a Arrow OSJ 146-440 J-pole. I also have LDG IT100 and YT450 tuners and a Tigertronics Signalink USB interface.
I am retired from a job working in local government, and enjoy spending my time working the radio when I am not running calls with the local volunteer fire company. I have been a member of Liberty Hose Company No 2 of Lykens for over 30 years.
