Hi, my name is Jose Luis and I was born in Badajoz (Spain) in 1969.
I grew up in a radio workshop, in the bosom of a family of radio amateurs. I obtained my first radio license in 1990 (EB4ECF) although I was already transmiting from a very young age on CB and as second operator of the home station.
Graduated with a degree in telecommunications electronics and a another one in telecommunications engineering from the University of Valladolid (UVA), however my daily work is in cybersecurity bussines.
I like experimentation, building radio equipment and antennas.
I am currently using a 20m delta loop variant, built with two 6m fishing rods and an inner cooper wire cut at 10% of its lenght. This enables me, through a 4:1 current balun, to operate on 40, 20, 15, 10 and 6m practically without use tunner (SWR<2:1).
My main transceiver, in my QTH and portable, is an FT-897D. When I go mountaineering, biking or skimo, I always carry with a VX-8DE and the APRS beacon activated.
