Radio fascinated me as a child. Age 8 I asked for a shortwave radio and listened to it secretly under the covers of my bed when my parents thought I was asleep! I passed the Radio Amateur's Examination aged 15 without any tuition (apart from books).
I have always been a DX chaser, migrating from HSCW in VHF to JT6m/FSK/ISCAT on 4m & 6m. Local conditions forced me to quit weak signal VHF so now I mix with the rest of mortal hams (only joking!)
I've rediscovered HFI like data modes but you'll fiind me on the key from time to time. If you're really lucky you'll hear me speak LOL ;o)
Currently playing with baluns, unun & random wires.
