I passed my Tech Exam on May 11, 2010, then upgraded to General in August 2010 and passed my Extra on December 7, 2011. I am member of ARRL, EARS and the secretary of the AC ARC club in Oklahoma City. Visit my website at http://www.kf5gtx.com.
I love working HF during QSO parties in any state on the weekends, talking on 2m and 33cm in the OKC Metro area, attending our club meetings and getting into CW and packet. I am also one of the Net Control operators on the MORI Tech Net, which meets on 146.850- (PL 141.3) every Thursday evening (except the 1st Thursday) at 8:30 PM.
I am a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason at Uriah Lodge #227 in Wheatland. PM 2010
Station is a Yaesu FT-847 for HF. I also run a Yaesu FT-1500M with a TNC-X for packet via our club digipeater at 145.010 and Motorola Spectras on VHF and UHF and 900MHz. I am using an Astron RM-70M power supply. Everything is rack mounted using Novex rack mounts from Dick Robinson.
HF Antenna is a Hustler 5BTV with the 17m add-on kit running Super-8 low loss, direct bury coax. 2m/440 antenna is a Tram 1480. 900MHz antenna is an L-Com 6dB gain vertical. Packet antenna is a Tram 1480 as well. All antennas run into polyphasers that are mounted on a custom bulkhead. Ground is 4 8' solid copper ground rods cadwelded to my service ground on the north end and a #4 ground wire on the south end. The station is grounded to the multi-point ground inside the shack, which is connected to the main #4 ground.
For mobile, I run a Yaesu FT-7900R and another Motorola GTX 900MHz mobile, also programmed with the ham frequencies. The 7900R antenna is a Browning dual-band NMO mount antenna. The 900MHz antenna is a Browning 5dB gain NMO mount.
Portable includes a Yaesu VX-6R with JetStream antenna and a Motorola GTX 900MHz handheld.
