Thanks for looking me up,
Growing up in Indiana, I was always fascinated with electronics and new technologies. I spent many hours building electronic kits and making lots of homebrew projects all through middle and high school. A favorite of mine was a tube operated AM transmitter , (of my fathers design), that I built and connected up to my stereo to listen to a stack of records from my car as we cruised town. I guess radio is in my blood as my dad designed radios following WWII at John Meck Industries.
In 1983 I graduated from Purdue University with my Bachelors in Electrical Technology. (Boiler up!) I worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1984 to 2018. At HP I have been a Hardware Support Engineer, TCP/IP Network Engineer, SS7 Telecom Engineer, and Project Manager.
I have been married to my wonderful wife Sherry. We have 3 beautiful daughters. We moved to Georgia in 1993 and really love the South.
I have many interests. I love to fish, and photography of all kinds. In 2009 I took up riding a motorcycle . I rode a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan VN900 Classic LT. I also enjoy gadgets, and mods to devices to make them do more than what they were designed to do.
In way of equipment, for VHF/UHF I use a Baofeng UV-5R HT on a Diamond X-50 vertical antenna , and for HF I operate an ICOM 7300, with a 66 foot OCF Windom Dipole from Radio Wavz or a G5RV Jr.
For portable operation I operate an ICOM 718 on ether a homebrew magnetic loop antenna or a BuddyPole.
73's and I hope to work your frequency soon,
