Greetings!
Foundation License gained in November 2015. Operating a Baofeng UV 5R into either a 2 Meter 4 Element Yagi / 2 Meter Slim Jim / Nagoya 771 for VHF operation and a ICOM IC-720A (Marine Battery Powered) into a Fullsize G5RV for HF operation between 80m-10m. Interested into getting into SSTV, and PSK.
I am located on the outskirts of Southport (Technically Ormskirk but in my opinion Southport would be more appropiate at determining location). For years I was interested in Radio listening and learnt how to repair Vintage Valve Radio's such as the Bush DAC90A with the aid of my Grandad (A Radio/Television Engineer back in the day) and did some SWL. I decided to do my Ham License after picking up a Practical Wireless in a WH Smiths on the way to Germany via the P&O Pride of Rotterdam and gave it a good read and got interested in the idea of transmitting.
My other interests are Photography, Classic Cars, Computer Programming, and AV Equipment.
