The easiest description of myself is a "Disabled Nerd". I have always been a Geeky Nerd, always needing to understand how things worked. I was an Acqusition Radar Technician in the Military and also worked as a Electronic Tech in civilian life, including Radio Service for a Motorola shop. The "Disabled" part is more recent, it has almost ended my other hobbies such as camping, hunting and fishing. The worst is no more tower work.

The station here is my modded Icom 706MKII with Homebrew interface for working the digital modes. My tower is a 40 foot which was 20 plus years old when it was given to me 30 years ago. I have one manufactured antenna, a Lightning Bolt single element / 5 Band Quad. I also use home made 160 meter inerted V Beam, a 66 foot Doublet, and a 43 foot Dipole for 60 meters.I have Homebrew Yagii antennas for 6 and 2 meter sideband.

Lately most of my contacts have been on JT65a. I do some PSK31 and SSB. I would like to try doing some SSTV and SAT in the near future if I can find an Elmer to help skip over the common mistakes.
