I'm Tomas David Hood, (my first name is, Tomas - pronounced just like, Thomas) . I am an amateur radio operator with an FCC-assigned callsign of NW7US. I hold an Extra-class license, and was first licensed in 1990. From 1972 to 1990, I was an SWLer. I enjoy many aspects of the radio communications hobby, including Morse code operation using a mode called, CW, as well as various digital modes such as JT65A, JT9, Olivia, and more.
I am a heliophile: I study the Sun and the Sun-Earth connection. I study the propagation of radio waves.
I am the contributing editor of the Propagation Columns in the CQ Amateur Radio Magazine, and The Spectrum Monitor.
