Hi there!
I rebooted an old hobby during the Covid lockdown and passed my radio amateur exam (Full license) in May 2021.
I upload all QSO's to Clublog, QRZ, HRDLOG and LoTW.
You will find me on the HF bands working SSB and FT8. I like experimenting with antennas and going mobile and QRP. My house has solar panels on all sides, so QRM is a recurring issue despite several successful countermeasures. This is also the reason why my FT8 report to you may seem low - the s/n ratio is not always favourable.
Many of you have loads of radios and other gear - my setup is simple in comparison...
- ICOM IC7300 HF transceiver
- Shure SM57 microphone
- Behringer Xenyx Q502USB mixer (for mic)
- 7 band Cobweb antenna 20-17-15-12-10-6-4 by AWK antennas
- MFJ 993 BRT remote tuner for EF long wire
- Spiderpole 12m for EF long wire (80m-10m)
- Xiegu X5105 HF QRP transceiver
- Military 2.0 FMJ portable HF antenna (80m-6m) by Alpha Antennas
