Greetings,
I live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States in Salem, Oregon. I am a retired Software Engineer and Computer Science Professor and I have been a HAM since 2017. I am also a Disabled American Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps as a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer of Marines.
I log QSOs through QRZ, eQSL, Club Log, LOTW, and Bureau. I am not a fan of QSL cards sent through eMail. I like tradition, as such I am a QSL card collector. For me the QSL card is not just a confirmation, the QSL card is part of the culture. With a QSL card in hand you can learn a little geography, maybe something about the sender and be more connected with others in the hobby.
Sure, please always confirm using LoTW, it's free to use and does confirm contacts. But, I believe that the two methods, LoTW and QSL cards, complement each other, one is not mutually exclusive of the other. If you send me a QSL card, I will send one back – SASE very much appreciated, but not necessary.
