First licensed June 1954 as WN7WIA while in high school in Pasco, WA.  My Elmer was Del Avery W7BGH. Upgraded to W7WIA Conditional Class (General by mail) Dec 1954.  Upgraded tol Advanced in the early 1970's and finally Extra April 2000. 

First Station Heathkit AT-1 Transmitter and National NC-88 receiver which was soon upgraded to the National NC-98 which added a S-meter and crystal filter.

With the the upgrade to Conditional Class purchased a used Harvey-Wells TBS50D transmitter which was replaced with a Heathkit DX-100.  Use this for many years.  See QRZ W7WIA for pictures and more information.

Retired high school math and physics teacher.  I aslo taught some photography and beginning computer science with programming in BASIC and PASCAL.  Retired after 35 years in 1996.

Lived in Washington State until the fall of 2000. At that time we sold our home and went  full time in our motorhome for 4 1/2 years. Great experience.  Now have our home in the Tucson, AZ area. Sold the motorhome in the fall of 2015 so no longer operating portable during the summers.
