I was born in Oslo, Norway and was introduced to ham radio at the age of 12. I was a SWL until I was old enough to get a license as LA8OH at age 16. 

   I emigrated to Canada after college and moved to the US a few years later. I was operating as /VE3 and /W8 for a while but antenna restrictions and other hobbies ended my ham radio activities.

   In 2012 I decided to get a US license and get back into what had been one of my favorite hobbies. I started as KD8VPP and later changed my call to W8NOR (-way).

I'm active mainly on CW on 10-80m with a Yaesu FT-DX1200 and a K4KIO hexagonal beam for 10m-20m (a great antenna). I use a Windom for 40m and 80m, and a dipole for 30m, both at around 40'. I also have a ground mounted 14AVQ vertical as backup. You may hear me on BPSK-31 as well.
