I was first licensed back in about 1962 as a novice KN7WSR then a few months later I got my general as K7WSR. This license lapsed so I took the advanced test in 1980 and became KB7MA and I went to work for Heathkit. Zenith had bought them and they had some cool computers called H-89 which got me into programming where I spend the rest of my working years retiring from ADP in 2013. Then in 2015 I got back into ham radio and asked to get my old call letters back and they were available but they made me get my extra class license to get a 2x2 vanity call.

I've spent the first 2 years on 70cm and 2 meters because my wife wanted me to get involved with our county ARES group. For fun I tried FT8 which has become pretty popular but has become rather boring as of late. Mostly now I enjoy SSB which is probably where you will find me on the 20 meter band. I put up a Cushcraft X7 at about 40 ft and have been working the world even with the band conditions we've had this year. I live up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere (according to my friends) but I can put up any antenna that I want without the neighbors complaining. I also check into the Great Northern Boaters net daily at 8:00am pacific on 3870 LSB.
