I am a retired corporate intellectual property attorney. My XYL and I live in Huntsville in my home state of Texas.
I have been a ham since 1978, but I was inactive for many years. I was licesned as WDCID, and under that call I wrote a widely used Morse code practice program for the PC called "Super Morse." When I Iived in Michigan, I upgraded to Extra and held the call KY8T. When I returned to Texas, I obtained the call KV5M.
I decided last fall to reactivate my station and now work mostly digital (FT8 and some PSK31). I am a member of the Walker County Amateur Radio Group.
Here is my station list:
Transceivers: Elecraft K3S, Elecraft KX2, Yaesu FT-857D, Yaesu FT-100D
Antenna: IAC 40/80 double bazooka
Digital interface: SignaLink USB
I call myself a serial hobbyist. Through the years I have done astrnomy, photography, flyiing (licensed but not active), offroad driving in my Jeep, metal detecting, computers and, of course ham radio.
I love history and read quite a bit.
My XYL and I travel in a motor home though not fill time. Through the years we have owned an Aliner trailer, a Four Winds Class C motorhome, an Itasca Suncruiser Class A motorhome, a Tiffin Allegro RED motorhome, and now a Winnebago View compance Class C motorhome.
