Mostly active on the HF (160 - 10) bands in CW and SSB with some occasional contacts in one of the digital modes. Very limited VHF/UHF activity with some monitoring of the Oscar 100 satellite. Main interests are DXing and award chasing. Some 15 years of intense SWLing proceeded my licensed HAM radio career.
Besides my ON4CAS callsign I also hold, as a Belgian citizen, the US callsign N1TOI (Extra Class with a 20 wpm telegraphy exam).
THE FINAL COURTESY OF A QSO IS A QSL! If there's one adagio I stick to: this one is it. To me, there's is no excuse for any ham not to confirm a first HF band/mode slot with a QSL card, whether that be a ragchew, contest or a quick 59(9) QSO.
The vast majority of my QSLing is done via the QSL bureau which - whatever some may pretend - does a marvelous job at a minimal cost. As most IARU societies run QSL bureaus, this service is available to most hams. Membership to one's national IARU society is something that goes without saying.
Please feel free to use my above indicated address if you want a QSL direct, SAE & two greenstamps are appreciated.
My log is uploaded to both LOTW & eQSL.cc on a regular basis, but this simply is NO SUBSTITUTE for a decent paper QSL card!
If you're a DMR enthousiast, chanches are you may find me lurking around on the worldwide talkgroup 91.
My commitments to the amateur radio community:
- DXCC Card Checker
- IOTA Checkpoint for the Benelux countries
- CQ Magazine Award Checkpoint
- UBA (Belgian IARU society) Treasurer & HF Manager
